Chocolate ice cream with berries on top

Summer is a moment for ice cream and other frozen desserts, but we won’t whisper if you want one of these treats at any other time of the year. We get it! If you’re near Cudahy, WI there are some fine places that will serve you something cold and creamy anytime. Try one of these!

4 Favorite Ice Cream Spots You Can Drive to Near Cudahy, WI

1. Purple Door

A fan favorite, the Purple Door happily scoops up a dynamic selection of flavors that can adjust a bit at any given moment because it’s so darn popular. Find classic flavors here of course, but also try the whiskey, the salted caramel, or the strawberry sour cream. You might be lucky enough to catch something like the raspberry jalapeno or the “dinner in Belgium.” They donate milk to local shelters, too, so you can feel extra good about your treats!

2. Babe’s

This place has a lot of flavors, and you may find them scooping more than 20 of their 75 or so at any one time, plus vegan soy-based versions, no-sugar options, sherbet, and Italian ices. Have these in a sundae (lots of choices of those!), in a cone, with a brownie or cookie or other baked goods (vegan included), cakes made with frozen confection, or a shake or malt. One visit isn’t enough to experience everything Babe’s offers!

3. Nite Owl Ice-Cream Parlour & Sandwich Shoppe

You could lay a foundation first of something other than cold desserts here, and they’ve been cooking them up since 1948. Classic burgers and fries abound at this old-school place that recalls 1950s drive-in restaurants. Cold treats are old-fashioned as well, with throwbacks like banana splits and floats, plus sundaes drizzled with sauces. Note that the Nite Owl is cash only, in keeping with its vintage-era vibe.

4. Skoops

Visit all the old-school parlors! This one is a small spot that features lots of black-and-white checkerboard details and red vinyl booths that will take you back to the past in style. It’s a coffee shop, too, but it proudly serves sundaes and banana splits with scoops of flavors like key lime pie (studded with sour lime candy and graham cracker bits) and coconut almond bliss, kicked up with melty chocolate chips and crunchy almond pieces.
Your new Ford EcoSport S SUV is sure to be quick enough on the draw to get you to a dessert parlor and back without everything melting down! On the other hand, a certified pre-owned Ford F-250SD Lariat pickup might be a good choice if you just can’t decide on a flavor and have to fill that truck bed with (at least) one of everything.
