The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD is an all-American supercar that combines aerospace-grade materials, motorsport technology, and pony car DNA. Its supercharged V8 and near-perfect weight distribution bring barely street-legal performance to the streets of Cudahy.
Meet the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD: Unleashed Performance
Supercharged V8
The 5.2L supercharged V8 in the Mustang GTD’s engine bay produces a thunderous 815 horsepower. It is the most powerful V8 ever fitted in a production Mustang and was developed by Ford Performance: the division that handles racing activities. The powertrain also incorporates an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission that gives you full control of the coupe’s power and lets you change gears near-instantly. On the track, the supercar achieves a top speed of 202 mph.
Outstanding Maneuverability
The Mustang GTD cleared all 73 turns of the Nürburgring circuit in 6 minutes and 57.7 seconds, thanks to its low curb weight, perfectly balanced chassis, and semi-active suspension. Ford engineers used carbon fiber in the supercar’s drive shaft, body panels, and rear wing, cutting hundreds of pounds of weight compared to traditional aluminum designs and greatly improving handling. Additionally, lightweight titanium from retired F-22 fighter jets is used in the Akrapovic exhaust and throughout the vehicle’s interior.
Semi-active suspension with Multimatic DSSV technology further enhances maneuverability by continuously adjusting the damping force and providing increased lateral stiffness. It also comes with a dual ride height feature that allows drivers to lower the vehicle’s center of gravity on the track. When Track Mode is engaged, the suspension reduces ground clearance by 40 mm.
Ample Stopping Power
The carbon ceramic Brembo anti-lock brakes are capable of bringing the Mustang GTD to a quick halt. The front brakes feature large rotors and 6 pistons to produce monstrous amounts of friction as soon as you press the brake pedal. Multi-purpose front fender vents supply the setup with cool air to prevent the brake pads from overheating. The supercar also features 345 mm Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires to reduce skidding.
Driver-Focused Cockpit
Stepping inside the supercar’s cockpit, you will find high-quality materials and tech luxuries that enhance the driving experience. The coupe accommodates two adults in hand-tailored RECARO seats with laser-etched Miko suede and GTD-specific details. The dashboard features a 12.4-inch instrument panel and a 13.2-inch infotainment screen, merged into a single panel and positioned within the driver’s reach. Materials sourced from F-22 fighter jets are used in the paddle shifters and rotary dial shifters to enhance durability.
